The APT eCatalog module supports two kinds of catalogs. Both catalogs will contain prices which have been negotiated between the buyer and the vendor.
- Hosted catalogs: These catalogs are hosted by the eProcurement system locally. These catalogs will store the Item information as provided by the vendor's and refreshed on a periodic basis. Users can search for an Item across multiple catalogs and compare prices.
- Punch Out catalogs: These catalogs are hosted by the vendor at their Servers or Web Sites and do not require refresh. Users can click on a vendor’s logo and will be directed to the vendor's website at which point a punch out session will be initiated. Once on the vendor’s site, users can search for the items, configure and select the items and add them to the shopping cart. The shopping cart is then transferred back to the eProcurement system and the line items are added to the requisition.
